We are dedicated to making eco-friendly decisions; from reducing and properly recycling waste, to aggressively managing energy efficiency, decreasing excess water consumption and utilizing environmentally favorable products in the hotel. In our extensive 2009 renovation of The Betsy-South Beach, we maintained a keen eye for green-oriented solutions at each step in the process.

Listed below are some examples of our ‘pursuit of Green’:

Newly installed digital temperature and energy usage control devices adjust the room climate automatically when a room is unoccupied to reduce energy costs. Dimmer switches are used in all areas to provide the ultimate opportunity to conserve energy. The use of LED lighting and compact fluorescent lighting throughout the property is targeted at reducing energy usage.
All of The Betsy’s rooms and suites are fitted with newly installed ceiling fans and light-minimizing shutters made of natural materials to reduce room temperatures and decrease electricity and energy used from air conditioners.
Newly installed, the Smart Cube is an innovative new Private Bar that is 30% more energy efficient than other models.
Newly installed air conditioning systems are Energy Star rated for high efficiency and lower energy usage.
Newly installed tank-less heaters eliminate the excess hot water in pipe lines to ensure that the minimal amount of hot water is being used on a daily basis in our kitchen area to reduce the expense in the commercial application.
Newly installed energy efficient double pane windows help maintain room temperature.
The Linen reuse program affords guests the opportunity to select how often they would like their terry and linen to be replaced.
Cloth laundry bags are proffered instead of plastic.
