The Betsy South Beach has just been named "One of the World's Greatest Hotels"!

In room living space with beige couches, black coffee table, wooden desk with chair, Tv & balcony

Condé Nast Traveler selected The Betsy as one of only 3 hotels in Florida and one of only 42 hotels in the US, as their “Favorite Hotels in the World” ()

From their January 2017 issue, Condé Nast Travel wrote, "This year's Gold List—our editors' picks for their favorite hotels in the world—spans six continents and 46 countries. What follows are our recommendations for the hotels and cruise lines we return to time and again—and daydream about long after returning home.” The reasons for their selection are below, and you can see the full list on their site here:

"You’d never know it to look at her, but The Betsy-South Beach, now a 130-room Georgian- and Art Deco-style hotel on Ocean Drive, is the work of two of Miami’s most famous architects, L. Murray Dixon and Henry Hohauser. It’s not just her outward appearance—now a cool blend of stately Florida Georgian and snazzy Art Deco—that sets The Betsy apart: The original Colonial wing's fresh interior is more Savannah than SoBe, with chairs upholstered in striped fabric, curtains and bedspreads bordered in matching colors—lavender, mustard, green—and a neat pile of books, including one by local boy Carl Hiaasen, on the desk in each room, and following the unveiling of a massive renovation in December 2016, has coopted the neighboring Carlton Hotel and its fresh Jazz Age-era digs to double its room count. The informal restaurant, LT Steak & Seafood, serves food you actually want to eat, and the addition of Poeti, a trattoria-style Italian spot, supplies the thin crust brick oven pizza Northerners covet should they tire of the city's fresh, fish-centric fare. One major bonus of the recent renovation? A totally revamped pool scene, complete with a 3,200 square foot rooftop swimming pool complex, and killer views of the sunset from high above the newly incorporated Carlton. So grab some friends and hit the cabanas—or take it to the Library, piled with beautiful books and a well-stocked private bar, for a quieter moment.” Condé Nast Traveler
