Reading ‘The Importance of Poetry, Or the Coming Forth from Eternity into Time’”: a commentary on the work of Poet, Hyam Plutzik (1911-62) Sandor ‘Sandy’ Goodhart is the author of award-winning books on literature, philosophy, and Jewish Studies – and emeritus professor at Purdue University where he served as the Director of Jewish Studies Program (1997-2002), Philosophy and Literature Program (2005), and Classical Studies Program (2007-2011). He is the 202 Hyam Plutzik Scholar in Residence at the JAHLit Annual Symposium 2023.
