Event Details

Presented by The Ocean Drive Association with The Betsy's 10th Annual Overture to Overtown Jazz Festival. In partnership with WDNA Jazz Radio, National Jazz Appreciation Month, The City of Miami Beach and the Greater Miami and the Beaches Convention and Visitors Bureau.

Hosted outside on the Ocean Drive Promenade located between 14th Street and 14th Place

Nicole HENRY (Special guest)– Since her debut in 2004, jazz powerhouse Nicole Henry has earned a Soul Train Award for “Best Traditional Jazz Performance," and 4 Top 10 U.S. Billboard, Jazz Week & HMV Japan jazz albums. She has captivated audiences while headlining in over 20 countries & has also performed in more than 30 music festivals worldwide and in some of the world’s most famous jazz venues. Henry has recorded with some of today’s musical greats including Kirk Whalum, Julian Lage, Gerald Clayton and Gil Goldstein and has performed with the Duke Ellington Orchestra, the Henry Mancini Institute Orchestra and Michael Feinstein.  In late 2021, she released her 8th CD that reached #4 on U.S. jazz charts. The New York Times raved, “I had the sense of being in the presence of a pop-soul superwoman.”  @nicolehenrymusic

Melton MUSTAFA, JR. – Saxophone - Melton Mustafa Jr.-Trumpet player extraordinaire, arranger/composer, producer, and educator. Melton has performed with the Count Basie Orchestra, Duke Ellington Orchestra, Woody Herman Orchestra, Bobby Watson, Jaco Pastorius, George Cables, John Hicks, Charlie Mingus Dynasty, and Gunter Schuller, among others. @meltonmustafajazzfestival
