SUNDAY, JANUARY 15, 2023 AT 5PM
Josef Gingold Chamber Music Festival of Miami - Virtuosi

The cornerstone of The Josef Gingold Chamber Music Festival of Miami philosophy emphasizes Gingold’s passionate commitment to music and humanity. Authentic performance practices are embodied by the art of Josef Gingold, one of the primary exponents of the Golden Age of music and violin playing.

The Gingold Chamber Music Festival of Miami offers the fully invested instrumentalist and pre-formed ensembles a unique opportunity to learn from some of the world’s leading pedagogues and touring artists. The program provides private lessons, studio classes, master classes, and an array of student/faculty conversations which contextualize aspects of playing and the business of music. Highlights include concert offerings by Gingold Virtuosi, a unique ensemble comprised of faculty artists preparing and performing alongside selected festival young artist participants. These concerts offer a range of chamber ensemble performances that includes piano trios, string quartets and quintets performing a wide array of concert repertoire at acoustically acclaimed venues. A recent international roster of guest artists includes Elmar Oliveira, Emanuel Ax, Julian Rachlin, Gil Shaham, Gary Hoffman, Rafael Figueroa, Sarah McElravy, Roberto Diaz, Ian Hobson, David Harding, Toby Appel, Gerard Schwarz and Nicola Benedetti, among others. In addition to the Artistic and Music Director, Andrés Cárdenes, the festival’s core faculty include Gary Levinson, Michael Klotz, Yuriy Bekker, Anne Martindale Williams, Andrés Diaz, and Wendy Chen, who curate the program with a modern outlook intended to prepare Gingold Festival participants for a successful 21st century career in music.
