Event Details
The Betsy Hotel is proud, as a member of the Ocean Drive Association, to actively partner in presenting a concert on the Ocean Drive Promenade every Sunday evening. Enjoy an oceanside concert with Ocean Drive Association’s free weekly music series. Pack a picnic blanket or lawn chair to stake out your seat on the lawn. Showtime is at 5:00 PM.

FIU Latin Jazz Big Band
The performing ensemble of eight musicians that includes three brass, three saxophones, piano, bass (acoustic or electric), drums, and percussionist. The repertoire will be based on a fusion of Latin and American Jazz styles, and the emphasis will fall on original compositions and arrangements. This ensemble provides students with performance experience in, and understanding of, an international array of contemporary idioms (Peruvian, Afro-Cuban, Brazilian, Argentine, etc.) and their integration into North American Jazz performance practice.
