Books & Books at The Betsy Hotel Presents An Afternoon with David Archuleta
Join us for the latest installment of the Books & Books at The Betsy Monthly Literary Series with singer-songwriter David Archuleta for the release of his new memoir, Devout (Gallery Books, $29), followed by a conversation with Katie Phang. In his memoir, David Archuleta illustrates his journey from a closeted Mormon teen to living in peace and authenticity as an openly queer man. Touching on the significant markers of his life, American Idol, performing national tours, and missionary work in South America, Devout is a reckoning and acceptance of a life lived under pressure and shame as you start to discover who you truly are.
A book signing & photo op with David Archuleta will be available for all attendees who purchase a copy of Devout ($29) on-site, during the event.
🎟️ Please note: Tickets are REQUIRED. Each ticket admits one (1) guest into the venue and includes one (1) copy of DEVOUT ($29 + tax) along with a book signing and photo op. Books will be handed out upon entry. Additional books will be available for sale at the event.
About the Books & Books at the Betsy Monthly Literary Series + Mini Residency
The series marks the return of Books & Books’ beloved literary programming to Miami Beach, following the closure of its Lincoln Road location during the pandemic. It also champions a 20 year partnership between Betsy co-owner Jonathan Plutzik and bookstore entrepreneur Mitchell Kaplan, both pacesetting leaders of distinguished South Florida business concerns – with a profound commitment to the power of literature to build community.
Events will take place on the last Sunday of every month. Each salon-style gathering will feature a visiting author - selected by Books&Books in partnership with major publishers - and an audience Q&A. Signed copies of books will be available for purchase. Valet and street parking will be available.
