Intergenerational Jazz returns to The Betsy with the Ellis Duo—a celebration of swing, soul, and South Florida’s living jazz lineage. Cindy Ellis (vocals) and Ryan Ellis (piano) anchor the evening with a set that moves effortlessly from classic standards to beloved jazz favorites, delivered with warmth, finesse, and deep musical chemistry. Adding to the spirit of the night: special guest performances featuring musicians across all generations—from students and emerging artists to new professionals and seasoned experts—sharing the stage in a true intergenerational exchange. The result is a performance that feels both timeless and right now: mentorship in motion, community in harmony, and a room full of stories told through music.
Cindy Ellis is a Cuban-American vocalist who has performed with and conducted ensembles in venues including Carnegie Hall, the Adrienne Arsht Center, New World Symphony Hall, the Guzman Center, and the Kennedy Center. A familiar favorite in South Florida jazz, she is also a regular in The Betsy Hotel’s Mostly Jazz performance series. @cindyellis
