Join us every Tuesday evening at The Betsy Hotel for the Piano Masters & Voices Jazz Artist Initiative—a dynamic new series celebrating Miami’s emerging jazz talent. Each month, we feature a standout student pianist, selected from the studios of acclaimed jazz educators, performing alongside world-renowned pianist Prof. Tal Cohen.

 Experience an evening of jazz, mentorship, and community. Enjoy two unique sets: Prof. Tal Cohen sets the stage from 6–9 PM, followed by a rising student star performing solo from 9–11 PM.

About the Initiative

Piano Masters and Voices Jazz Artist Initiative provides upper-level undergraduate and graduate jazz pianists the chance to perform live, learn from top professionals, and connect with Miami’s vibrant music community. Supported by The Betsy Hotel, The Betsy Community Fund at The Miami Foundation, and the Jorge Perez Family Foundation CreARTE Program.

Tal Cohen – Piano - Tal Cohen is a Grammy award-winning jazz pianist currently located in Miami. He has received acclaim including winning the Barry Harris National Piano Competition and was the recipient of the prestigious Freedman Fellowship, performing to a sold-out crowd at the Sydney Opera House. Tal Cohen has played with Terence Blanchard, Greg Osby, Ignacio Berroa, and Joe Lovano. He currently leads his ensemble which has performed at festivals and venues that include Jazzbez Jazz Festival (Ukraine), Detroit Jazz Festival, Melbourne Jazz Festival (Australia), and a three-week residency at the Black Cat (San Francisco).  His most recent album- "Gentle Giants"  has received international acclaim and gained him many reviews including a 4-star review from the historic Downbeat Magazine. @talcohenjazz.

Martin Bejerano is an acclaimed jazz pianist, composer, and educator based in Miami. He is an Associate Professor and the Head of the Jazz Piano Program at the University of Miami’s Frost School of Music. Bejerano is known for his dynamic performances as both a solo artist and as a longtime member of legendary drummer Roy Haynes' Fountain of Youth band. His career includes performances at major jazz festivals worldwide, several acclaimed recordings, and collaborations with leading jazz musicians. Bejerano is recognized for his innovative approach to jazz piano, blending Latin influences with contemporary jazz idioms.
