Allen Ginsberg (1926–1997) was a seminal American poet, writer, and leading figure of the Beat Generation, best known for his epic poem "Howl" (1956). As an counterculture icon, he advocated for sexual liberation, anti-war efforts, and Eastern religion, influencing decades of artistic expression. He co-founded the Jack Kerouac School of Disembodied Poetics.
