Assel Jean-Pierre Jr. is a Haitian-American pianist and recording artist whose work bridges classical mastery, jazz improvisation, and the rhythmic depth of Caribbean and Latin traditions. Born in New York and based in Orlando, he has developed a distinctive voice at the piano—one that is both technically commanding and emotionally resonant. He holds a Bachelor of Music in Classical Piano and a Master’s degree in Jazz and Composition from the University of Central Florida. As a recording artist, Assel has released multiple projects, including Hymns of Meditation for the Soul Vol. 1 & 2, Hymns for Tots, and A Christmas Story by the Jean-Pierre Pianists—works that reflect his commitment to creating music that heals, inspires, and transcends genres.
Assel has performed on international stages, including a featured appearance at Carnegie Hall as part of the historic 7 Pianists concert, alongside artists such as Joey Alexander and Valentina Lisitsa. His performance credits also include the NFL Pro Bowl halftime show with Jordan Fisher, as well as collaborations with artists such as BeBe Winans and Denyce Graves.
As a bandleader, he leads the Assel Jean-Pierre Trio, delivering high-energy, genre-blending performances that fuse jazz, classical, and global influences into a compelling live experience. His artistry is marked by a deep sense of storytelling, virtuosic technique, and a commitment to musical excellence that continues to resonate with audiences worldwide.
