Chris Urquiaga, known as JChris, is an internationally recognized urban Latin singer-songwriter, composer, pianist, and producer whose music weaves together Latin, Afro, and Brazilian influences with themes of identity, gender fluidity, and queer culture. A graduate of the Eastman School of Music, JChris has performed in PBS-televised specials with the American Pops Orchestra alongside acclaimed artists including Omar Apollo, Tito Puente Jr., and Nathy Peluso, and The Recording Academy named him a Grammy Voting Member in 2023. His artistry is as layered as his story — rooted in Brazilian, Peruvian, and Cuban heritage, and shaped by a lifelong commitment to authentic storytelling through music.
