It’s no news to anyone that the beach is a place of healing, whether you’re mostly a devotee of the water, sun, sand, or all of the above. At The Betsy, though, books are a big part of the story because every single one of our rooms has its own library. We also provide a tote bag and encourage you to choose a favorite book before you venture to the beach.
We also have a property library where you’ll find hundreds more books on different subjects. So if you’re actually looking for a book on a particular topic, you’ll find one there, located on the third floor across the bridge, Art Deco Wing.

We’d venture to guess that The Betsy is one of the only hotels in the world with almost 10,000 books on property, all available for use by our guests. And we’re also the only hotel that has a piece of public art that pays homage to 12 writers that shaped Miami culture, from Muhammad Ali to Langston Hughes, to Richard Blanco, and so many more.

Finally, we also have an elevator that is filled with the covers of books, with at least half of them written by artists who’ve been in residence in The Betsy's Writer's Room in the last ten years. This work of digital design, created by Max Steven Grossman, is an amazing assemblage of book cover art, reflecting writing talent from all over the globe.
